Battlestar Galactica 3

March 26, 2007

Well well well…. Wow… what can I say, I loved last nights season finale. So many questions remain unanswered and so many  fans will be in agony waiting for next year’s  debut!

Baltar’s not guilty verdict, was abvious, since he’s the perfect anti-hero, and if you think about i, he may by guilty of many things, but he is by no means responsible for it all.

We get a sneak peak at 4 news cylons, but the jury is still out on this one for me. Lets just say, we need a bit more information before making up our minds as to whether they are or not. Also the show ends with Lee seeing Starbuck next to him, and then the camera panning out showing the Cylons starships, and then zooiming in the Earth…. what till 2008 hold for Fans of BSG!

On a last note, what should we make of these daydreams that the president has, about the 6 Baltar and the Baby…. what does it all mean… I think there lies the truth.

No new money for the Canadian television fund

March 21, 2007

This Monday, the Harper government unveiled their their budget, and to no ones surprise it maintained funding for the CTF and 1996 levels. It kunda makes you wonder why create a fund if you never intended to finance it properly. Now I know that it wasn’t the conservatives that created it, but I hope that they will have the courage to ax it, instead of just letting it spoil from a lack of funding and lack of a plan. Thats what liberals do… not conservatives.

CRTC – Here we go again!

March 15, 2007

On March 27th the CRTC will be hearing arguments from different television license holders in order to decide which channel should be in the basic packages offered by Cable and Satelite companies. The Contenders are channels such as the weather network, Newsworld and YTV. They would like the CRTC to guarantee them a spot along with the CBC, TVA, CTV, Global, and some others that I con’t name right now.

Can someone please tell me why I need to have any channel forced down my throat when subscribing to cable or satelite… Why can’t we pick the channels that we want to watch. Its not like having these makes me watch them, it only gives me more channels to surf over when trying to find something to watch from those channels that I did want on my dial.

What we need as a country is for citizen/consumers to be treated as adults, with the ability to watch TV that we want with little or no interference from burocratic entities created by Ottawa.

ok…end of rant.

Goodbye rural Canada – So asks the CBC

March 14, 2007

The CBC has asked the CRTC the right to stop the broadcasting their analogue signal to Rural Canada. I guess that some technocrat up at the CBC made a calculation that proves that they could save X amount of money if this was done. Whether or not maney could be saved, I am shocked but not surprised that they would want to do such a thing.

The CBC needs a wake-up call. I hope that we will see a re-vamping of the CBC, where they will be set-up in a PBS like system of commercial free television.  The CBC’s need to make money and to compete for commercial reevenues has forced the CBC to lose its soul. How could they even consider such a thing, as to cut-off rural Canada. If the CBC leaves, so will everyone else. Its their duty to broadcast coast-to-coast and its their main redemption that Canada still believes that the CBC means something. Why go and shoot yourself in the foot, by acting like CTV or Global.

BSG “The Son also rised”

March 13, 2007

Well after a huge episode last week, we were presented a much more subdued episode this week where we were introduced to the unpredictable lawyer Lampkin. He is Baltar’s new lawyer, replacing the now dead original lawyer, that got blown up at the opening credits.

Lots of build up to the final two shows, the introduction of Lampkin (adama trained according to him) Lee taking his role as protector of the defence to heart and we see both Adama’s strugling with StarBuck’s demise.

Here are a few clips for your enjoyement.

Last weeks bonus clip:
