Telus – The future is friendly (read sexy)

February 10, 2007

TELUS announced a couple of weeks ago that they would begin selling pornographic content on their mobile phones to customers. Consumers with a TELUS phone can for a fee, download and watch pictures of naked people and adult rated videos. I would bet that nothing to hard-core will be availlable for quite some time, judging by the response that some western groups from Alberta and B.C. have expressed.Notably the British Columbia Arch Bishop which says that he is iddapointed with this decision from TELUS, to read more click here.

Porn and technology from my point of view have always helped each other out. Porn has made the Internet what it is today, because of its money, there were lots of incentives in increasing the pipe and making movie watching possible online. Mays this will do the same for mobile phones in Canada…. for mare read the Globe and Mail pice by SIMON BECK.

HDTV, IPTV, DTV, all we want is TV.

January 20, 2007

This blog will do its best to keep up with TV trends in Canada. These are always on the move, either through its content providers buying each other up, or through the ever changing techno landscape surrounding TV land. On that note I would invite anyone looking for a glimpse into which Canadian company is doing what on the IPTV front to read today’s Financial Post front page, it’s all about the IPTV trend taking rout in the prairies. Yes the Prairies, cause in Canada Sasktel and MTS are the leaders in IPTV deployment, with TELUS coming up behind them. This will be a hot topic for months to come as Internet providers in Canada, especially the cable companies, decide whether or not to practice Net neutrality when it comes to these bandwidth intensive services.

LEt me know you thoughts on this or any other TV related issue.

Looks like 2007 will be quite a year for the consumer.
